Much to Much to, too Much Music

Bloc Party, the Killers, the XX, Falls Festival, Stereosonic, and stop.

I've probably missed other acts (ofcourse I have) but listen (literally,) the head can't keep up with the releases, the feet can't keep up with the beats and boy, I don't know where to start.

Bloc Party are on the cusp of a new album release, just as we thought that was the end of the quartet, as the XX also busts out a new one (oh boy it's good) and the Killers, whom performed a faux disappearing act on us after their last studio album Day and Age, are cracking open a new record.

But bugger all that I say. Why have one when you can have it all, at FALL(s)!

What better way to ring in new years - if we survive all the scepticism of 2012 ... - than by the sea, shaking yo thang to Beach House or Hot Chip or whoever! Riddle me that.

SO far, the lineup includes:

Beach House
Best Coast
Bombay Bicycle Club
Boy & Bear
Coolio (possibly new years lip-locking-"get jiggy with it"-tunes)
First Aid Kit (and no, not the one that contains berocca and bacon and eggs for new years day)
Hilltop Hoods
Hot Chip
Sampology
Maximo Park
Millions
SBTRKT
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
The Flaming Lips
The Vaccines

and more to come apparently.

Over to Big Day Out:

In a strategic and different move to the usual announcement motif, Big Day Out organisers last week announced that the line up would be dropped this week. Well, it's now 12pm on Monday and the lineup is out.

Before I show you the picture, you should know that it's the biggest Big Day Out ever. Kind of.

Now let me give you a sec to put your head back on and sit down before you roll your eyes up and down and all over the poster - a bit like checking out a girl really.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Tick
The Killers. Tick
Vampire Weekend. Tick
Adventure Club. Tick
Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Tick
Foals. Tick
Tick Tick Tick.
